Painting the path to ACCEss

When: Wednesday, November 4, 2015

Time: 12pm to 3pm

Where: UIC Latino Cultural Center (LC B2)

Join us for a creative hands-on workshop where you can customize your own shoes* in preparation for a campus-wide walk to support the Student ACCESS Bill. Passage of this bill would allow undocumented students to apply for scholarships in 4-year public universities in
Illinois on a competitive basis.

* We will have a small amount of white sneakers available for purchase ($5) at the workshop on a first come first serve basis. All proceeds will go towards the ACCESS Bill campaign efforts. Feel free to bring your own shoes to repurpose them.


Student ACCESS Bill Launch

Show your support by attending the press conference to launch the Student ACCESS Bill. The importance of higher education and this bill will be highlighted through the storytelling of undocumented students and allies.


Walk in my Shoes

Following the press conference, a student-led “Walk in my Shoes” walk through the UIC
campus will be held. We ask all to walk in solidarity with students and supporters from
across the state of Illinois to promote and highlight this bill.
